Why do y'all think homophobic fujos exist?
I come across some people that didn't realize a lot of self proclaimed fujos are homophobic which surprised me, I've been in the anime community since i was 11 and i was already pretty into BLS and that was before 2020 so old anime fandom type shenanigans were happening one of which was homophobic ass fujoshi who were completely open about the fact it was only the idea of the gay relationship they liked not gay people, that's why the term fujoshi grew to have a negative meaning, it seem some people have grown too chronically online and forgot that the major exports of "yaoi" is from conservative ass countries, most of these yaoi are very much not realistic because realistic depiction of gay relationship is not marketable to a homophobic audience lol
Popular Yaoi and BL work comes from mostly countries that is very patriarchal, like Korea, China and Japan. Basically it’s popular among women that been oppressed by the male society norms or whatever u get it. Yea i remember the 2020 controversy that they used to HATE the concept of fujoshi's and the term 'yaoi' shouldn't be used and that 'BL' is an alternative. Probably because they are attracted to anime boys and not real gay people. It’s like goon material.
Also, I don’t think the depiction has to be realistic, it’s a fictional story they can do whatever they want with it. reply
