People who romanticise problematic tropes?
What do you think causes it? Do you think it's a combination of desensitisation, disconnection, or something else? For example I remember discovering problematic fiction young, and some classmates discovered it even younger and they were very desensitised, also I noticed some people are less "in tune" with the world and nature for example I have shit instinct and never catch red flags IRL until it's too late while I know people like my aunt that can immediately tell when someone feels creepy (e.g. celebrities that turned out to be rapists) and she's had crazy numinous experiences an out of body experience during a coma while I feel a lot more disconnected. What are your thoughts? Experiences?

i think a lot of it is popular BC of media.
look at twilight for example it's full of toxicity like Edward breaking into Bella room bcs he's worried a spider will kill her Jacob forcefully kissing her Bella wanted a boy because then she'll fully have Edward inside her Jacob falling in love with Bella bc of her eggs.

Might be some different causes: people who are really lonely and never had healthy relationships who like the idea of a person caring about them so much that they’re obsessed/yandere, being exposed to it in media they consume and therefore getting it normalized for them, and people who are just naturally freaky(?)

Desensitization is one aspect, a big one likely since rape as well as in recent times absolute mental nutjob love interests is a HUGE trend that's made appealing by great art.
Another is that people do not care for things in fiction as much or treat it differently simply because it's not real. So a disconnect ...... reply
