Short and good or long but dragged out?
I noticed that manhwas rarely stop when it'd be logical to end it and bring up new problems for the characters which are most of the time an abusive parent, an unexpected love-rival or a stupid misunderstanding. But most of the time I see many people being happy with it bc at least the story didn't end and they love the characters. So is it better to have a satisfying ending but the story is shorter or much longer but the drama is already dragged out and unnecessary?
short and good is obv better, but with some (read: 19 days) I actually want the stories to get milked to oblivion since I can never imagine them ending. I'm actually kms if 19 days ever ends so I need yall to stop praying for it to finish PLEASE 1 reply
Teehee I like talking about this
Long stories are great if!!!!:
1. It has multiple arcs, that get resolved, even if there is a larger overarching arc (Eleceed)
2. There is one storyline, but it justifies it's chapter count and is thoroughly planned (Burning Effect)
3. It's a slice of life story that one can just jump into (Yotsubato!)
1 doesn't...... reply
One example is Cherry blossoms after winter, let's be fr that series was actually good until like season 3 I think where they started to have sex. Not only the quality of plot just went to porn, we had an unnecessary side couple who was just about rape. It ruined the vibe of "wholesome manhwa". This was dragged out more than it had to I like things...... 1 reply
the former imo… just milk the stories w side stories even if its longer than the actual series. just please, these characters deserve some form of happiness reply
Definitely short and sweet. I think these stories get continued for so long because that's how they make money, if they end it then they either have to make something new or find something else to do. I get jt, but it's a REALLY bad issue for webtoon series in particular, they just get so unnecessarily long. Honestly the shorter a story is the more...... reply
