Anyone else weirded out by this?
I've been reading mangas since I was in elementary (Shocking ik). I'm in college now, and I've noticed how much råpe is in a lot of them (ESPECIALLY when it comes to yaoi). Personally, I've read my fair share of mangas containing räpe between the MC and their love intrest and in my eyes, that shit is just not it. Even though it's fictional, it's still weird to me and if that's apart of the story, I just can't read it anymore. Aside from rāpe being morally wrong, it's just not something that makes an enjoyable manga. When a story contains rąpe between the MC and their love intrest, I'm immediately disgusted by the story because that is not love. I love myself some dark romance, but râpe is where I draw the line. The reason I ask this question is because I don't really hear many people talk about it. I was curious on everyone else's thoughts.
Its actually gotten so normalized that sometimes I dont even notice there was rape theres so many of them (My very first yaois, bls or wtv were full of unconsensual, rape, coercion type shit) reply

You’re absolutely right. There are some stories that portray it as it is—disgusting, but a real situation people are put into. Just not as often throughout the story, it adds to a bigger theme. no but that's a valid thought, i prefer staying away from mostly manga/manhwa that glorify that shit, glorify but not the manga/manhwa that contains it. personally i don't enjoy them, and also smutty manga/manhwa is no itttt i lowk prefer if it has some plot and genuinely things happening and not just the mc and ml banging it every chapters 1 reply
