Does it impact your daily life?
Do you feel like you can't stop reading even if you want to stop, or sometimes read and escape into BL even if you just want to take a break, to do something else, or to sleep?
Is it a coping mechanism for you?
Do you find yourself scrolling and scrolling to find the next dopamine fix, the next story that hits the spot, the next BL that fills the void? But it's somehow never enough? Fear of missing out, you gotta read it all, consume it all?
Do you feel empty after many sleepless nights of reading, to an extent, the same shit, different packages?
Where does appreciation for love, story telling and art start, where does it end and turn into mindless consumption, gooning, escapism from a life you have no control over, and you just let it happen to you like a passive bystander too addicted to care about real problems, relationships, and circumstances?
Nah, I read all kinds of things. I think it’s more of an addiction to literature over pornography— porn is interesting because it’s intimate, but it’s not even that enjoyable tbh.

My porn addiction has nothing to do with yaoi, though I like yaoi coz it's a form of escapism, you won't catch me gooning to it.
That said, any form of literature or anything for that matter becomes addicting when you don't like the real world...like... Any addiction lol... I don't think it's a bl thing.

I mainly read Josei, but I also love BL too. I’ve never masturbated to any of this stuff, but I guess that would be the difference. Are you using it for masturbation material or are you using it for a dopamine hit? There’s people who love books, but that’s not looked or viewed as a bad thing in society so I don’t see reading mangas and bein...... reply
I joke a lot about being a gooner but ima be real i could stop reading anything for days,weeks, years and not care (and i have done that btw). i like to read it because lowk due to the age that i discovered it, it kinda became like something that brings me comfort in a way

honestly i don't feel addicted, more entertained by the storylines and art that are presented through bl and although i do like bl that doesn't mean i don't enjoy gl or straight romance. for me fluff is enough, but it's like a cherry on top with smut. while i wouldn't say it impacts my daily life, it sometimes is something i look forward to toward ...... reply
