personal attacks over fiction

i just came across a manhwa and the comment section was too toxic, ppl sending death threats and accusing others of mental illness for supporting a different ship or liking a flawed character or having a different opinion then them and there are alot of people agreeing with it which is disgusting. Many times i've seen people on twitter calling others names and sending death threats for disliking their fav anime character and i think this needs to be adressed because this type of behaviour is not normal and these people clearly need help. Please don't send personal attacks to a person over fiction, because these people are real and they've feelings unlike those fictional characters you like.
