Lying on a resume
does it rly matter if you can bs something on an interview (if u even get a callback)? do they actually call/check all the refs if its a big company? can i just use ai to autosend resumes to random places till i get actual employment?
i mean, if they're automating everything, they're prolly not doing anything more than background checks at best, right? and they won't have the time to actually look deep into candidate backgrounds and all?
I'll be honest chief, it depends on the company BUT it could have massive ramifications for you. I recommend you don't lie, but if you do you can run into 2 problems:
1. The company doesn't check, but it's because they're shit. You might end up hating/being screwed over by the company because the company has proven to take the easy route.

tbh it dont really matter anymore bc every application (from what i've seen) has gone though an ai system that just automatically filters out people even if they are really qualified for the job but i think that if u do get interviewed they do a background check using ur name and contact details to see if you've done anything bad through another pr...... 1 reply
Ngl, I didn't add the numbers of references, cold sent CVs and still got the job. Just don't exaggerate too much. You need a seed of truth, don't just straight up lie. reply
You can lie about your work experience ( like even if you dont know Tableau/ SQL you can lie on your resume or about the responsibilities you never had)... But you have to know about the things you are writing on your resume because even if you passed the screening round, it'll tough for you to crack the next rounds..

Honestly depends on what youre lying abt. I would say lie only if its half true, like saying your advance using a program but you only know the basics of it
And with work refs i have seen a lot of people put down their friend's number, bc no they dont exactly do background checks but they may call the business
