I wanna do some research for a psychology exam but I can't decide upon an interesting topic. I know this is not the platform for this stuff but whatever. I know there are nerds around here and I need y'all please. Tell me any interesting psychology topics that any of you have done research on or think will be good and interesting to do lengthy research on for exams please. Literally ANYTHING guys. Even if it's kind of out of the pocket or pretty niche and all. Help this gal out.
I study criminal/forensic psychology. Lots of really interesting research around whether nature/nurture plays a role in shaping criminal behavior (spoiler alert: a whole lotta both). ugh i cant remember the exact study but i was really interested in the way the brain develops after abuse in childhood. it could be any abuse really but the way people who have experienced abuse in their childhood are more likely to develop mood disorders and such and keep 'falling out of line' and how they're more likely to fall into prison and be...... reply
What I honestly find really interesting are all the (self) studies with dating apps and how women tend to find psychopathic traits rather attractive than repulsive. You can also do some fun self studies and in depths research with that topic. As it also contains psychopathic traits and how it shows or what specific patterns are involved. reply
Catatonia (and how it has weirdly just somehow vanished nowadays compared to how it was a little more common in the old days) and/or misogyny of early psychiatry have always intrigued me. I've seen some interesting old video clips on YouTube and archive.org regarding both subjects. Also mass hysteria is always fun, like the dancing plague of 1518, ...... reply
Not a ners but I just found out about AI-induced psychosis. It sounds like a fresh idea especially with the extensive use of AI which imo sometime unregulated. People are using chatgpt as therapists and i do think it's alarming reply
