Have y’all been noticing the increase of bland characters?
Generally I like to read multiple genres from bl, shoujo, Josei, and etc. Recently I feel that there’s an increase in stoic main characters which personally I felt nothing wrong about it before but recently the few manhwas and mangas have main leads with no character traits which is so annoying to me. Like there whole character is having a personality of log which is so boring and hard to read. Like good plot and everything but the side characters are way more interesting than the actual main character which is insane.That’s who story revolves around. Like it’s okay to have stoic characters but they don’t have to be flat.
Ngl even the "puppy" type MLs I liked are getting too boring, they're my fave type of ML but damn they're too bland, yes it's a trope but some of these characters had actual brains before and would be angst from time to time, now some of them are just like rapists too.
