alright, i don’t wanna sound like a gatekeeper ,, but this gets me rlly upset.
so, a few months back before the whole quarantine started, i was reading manga i have downloaded on my phone in class and someone peeked over and saw and were like “wow..you’re into that stuff? like weird hentai and cartoons?” and i was like “yea, it’s pretty cool” then the person decided to be even more ignorant and was like “that’s so weird lol you’re into like chinese stuff” like ???? thank god the bell rang and i left bcs i’m pretty sure i’d say something mean.
anyways, flash forward to a few months later and i go on snapchat and see the same person posting a bunch of anime “memes” and like clips from bnha. i mean, sure you’re into that now but like...hypocritical much?
i don’t want an apology but like...damn you got yourself there bud :/
I was bullied in middle school/beginning of high school for watching anime and reading manga. It used to bother me a lot and I even stepped away from the anime community during my high school years as an attempt to fit in. Once I went to college I finally felt more comfortable getting back into anime/manga and am now never shy to talk about it with...... 1 reply
i mean, i guess their tastes changed lately or they discovered good anime and manga, but i wouldn't hold it against them. Perhaps they just had a weird perception on what manga and anime was at the time. 1 reply
i mean for me personally i only had cringey interests and i hid my interests and people would talk so much crap about the things that i liked, but now that I'm embracing it and openly liking things those same people that made fun of me also like it?? i think people knock things down before they try it and they would just need time to like it becaus...... reply
