i PERSONALLY don't think what people enjoy in fiction ALWAYS applys to their irl morals BUT i think we can have enough brain cells to understand reading rape porn and defending it like your life depends on it IS IN FACT WEIRD. People have every right to comment their review of a story and it seems people forget that not everyone reads the story as soon as it comes out and many start reading well after the story as 20/30/40+ chapters that's why even so late in the story people still complain because they're just experiencing it it's not weird at all to acknowledge how 99.9% of bls got rape or sa that is excused by the narrative and or treated as small mistakes

But I'm not expecting normalized and romanticized rape story defenders to be able to think this deeply in the first place.
Rape and abuse isn't easy to depict. Authors do have it hard in that regard. But more often than not, they choose to depict it in the most disgusting way possible - as something to be forgiven and forgotten about because the abuser is hot, 'misunderstood', and the abused has to let the abuser have his redemption arc. This is anti-surviver, and pro-abuser. No matter how much the 'puritan' accusers cry, this will always be the truth, and they'll always participate in this narrative through their enjoyment and high ratings.
