How are we feeling about heated rivarly gang? Tbh I came out feeling really underwhelmed after watching the whole show. It felt too jumpy and there was a lack of dialogue. So I read the book and found out they actually did a great job at adapting it. Like it's written to be that jumpy I guess..? So is the source material mid or am I missing something and I should rewatch it because I really don't get the hype or praise. I mean progressive and new yes? But good story and writing..? I don't really think so. I mean I totally am enamored by Hudson and connor's charisma offstage (especially Hudson) but that doesn't make the show good.. idk what do y'all think because I don't see any discussion on this
Someone said it’s like how when we first read our first bl’s, we thought it was the greatest thing ever(unless you read killing stalking as your first…), and this is some people’s first time experiencing gay media, so even though it’s mid to our eyes since we’ve read and seen it all and have standards, it’s genuinely peak to others. 5 reply

I think its less about the writing/technical aspects of the show but more about it's driection, actor chemistry, and overarching cultural impact (being a "the queer experience️" that isn't a heavy think-piece or tragedy). Personally I think it's in the same string of cultural phenomenons of which the source material is fanfiction/written out of p...... reply
I thought it was great. The first 2 episodes didn’t really hook me too much, and I almost left it at that, but I thought the later episodes were so good. The atmosphere, the tension and yearning, the struggles that both Ilya and Shane went through and how they healed each other—I thought it was beautiful. And the side couple was just as lovable...... reply
i love heated rivalry. the adaptation was really great considering the book which came off to me like a wattpad story im so sorry but i like it and i'm seated for the unreleased book. idk why people keep saying shit about the show, it was well done, the actors did really great, loved the director's lil changes. some people might really not like it ...... reply
Heated rivalry is like porn with feelings, or another way to put it, it's like if half of yuri on ice was an extended version of 'A Night In Barcelona', but also now yuri is the one getting dicked down
