would you be friends with someone who has different views?
i’m curious bc i know this person who has completely different views than i do and they recently posted about how different political views doesn’t mean mean we still can’t be friends but their views in general (not just political but also on issues like racism etc.) are way too different to mine. i just wanted to know if it’s bad to drop friendships/relationships based on different views since i know everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and such
It honestly depends on the topic. I can't accept racism, sexism, or general jackassery, but, if it is a topic with potential for compromise, I'm okay, usually. It gets a little more complicated than that, but I rarely shut down a conversation/potential friendship just because of opposing views. reply
