When did being "woke" become bad??
Like why is it used as an insult now just cus someone called out a certain problematic shit. I remember when the Superman movie came out and it was "woke" cus it showed basically what's happening in Palestine at the time calling out corrupt and shit government and manipulative media. You see people in this site use "woke" as an insult cus u shitted on their child porn. Im hella confused. Cause it's supposed to be good. Extreme activism exist, I can see how sometimes it can go bad and it's just purity culture however that's not even that common. People just say this shit to you when you hate the story for romanticizing rape and hate on a literal abusive ML.
The meaning of the word woke has been watered down. It’s not even made for overall social activism but rather by BLM activists, conservatives will water down anything in order to reduce its power.

Once everyone outside of the black community started using woke it was already dead and a done deal from there. Let's not forget that once mainstream happens.. whyte folk happens to profit then every non black American follows after.. Then to salvage it mfs try to give it new meaning debasing it further. reply
I think it's because people are becoming more conservative sadly,and for a lot of people like that being woke is the biggest insult. But don't ever let people tell you that you're "to woke" reply
It started being bad when major conservative media outlets used it as an insult (most notably sorting the blm protests). Then it started to become a term in the general conservative spaces to just define anything they don't like as "wokeness" is the opposite of conservativeness. What woke means now is kind of for people I guess operating within a specific demographic I feel, it's like the people who are protesting against Trump bombing the leader of Iran versus the Iranian women celebrating(another example for explanation is people saying that they're going to cut out all products and services that are Israel related.
