No hate but is it just me or like when every year passes, the plot of almost every manhwas especially BL are becoming more simple and less interesting than it is way back then? Like I clearly remember those old times where I exactly remember the plot I read like king's maker, under the green light, ghost nocturne and killing stalking (not BL) for example. But as you can see, nowadays it's kinda difficult to find such manhwas with an actual interesting plot rather they just go with the plain bandwagon stuff that's going on the internet wide which I believe that's making every single read easily forgettable nowadays. The only BL I'm currently invested on the story is wet sand and master-peace nowadays. Just saying
idk....i feel like we ARE getting some good stuff these recent years, sure the old bls have their own charm and they're amazing, but new bls have brought amazing stories too i would say. i'm very happy guideverse is getting popular these days, horror bls, regression bls, hunter bls, game related bls (hats off to netkama punch and guildmate next doo...... reply
These authors need money but genuinely can't write a proper story. but, since most people turn a blind eye/set aside the mistakes of a character cause it's supposed to have a 'happy ending' anyways , they just write whatever cause sum ppl would support anything as long as the art is eye pleasing 1 reply
It’s literally the same plot every single time. A cold ML, some stupid misunderstanding, some childhood connection, and then the ML treats the MC badly for half the story. Then suddenly we get a “chasing arc” and boom — after 100+ chapters we’re supposed to forgive everything and the MC still ends up choosing him. Like what even is this l...... reply
You are not the only one... I have been reading BL / Yaoi from 2021, and my first ever manhwa was hyperventilation. it was short and sweet and I expected all yaoi manhwas to be like that. Shortly i decided to read killing stalking and OMG that wasn't even BL to begin with but the plot had me till the end! soon I read kings maker, sign, blood bank, ...... 2 reply
BL as a genre has existed since the mid 70s. That’s almost 50 years worth of stories to explore.
Every time someone asks the question “what was your first BL” the answers are overwhelmingly the same handful of series.
BJ Alex, Killing Stalking, Cherry Blossoms after winter…
These series are all less than 10 years old.
I’ve read so much ...... reply
I think you're just forgetting the bland and boring one from that time too. there'll always be bl manhwas that became the highlight and remembered
a few years from now you'll forget the bland one too, and only remember a few titles.
personally, I'm looking forward to where My Rat Is An S-Class Awakener is heading. Blossoms of the White Night seem...... reply
idk why yall acting like everything is bad?? ass yaoi has always existed since before, you just dont remember it. like sure nowadays we got many cold ceo creditor 200cm top and poor fragile naive debtor bottom but its not like this trope makes up 90% of yaoi released?
even in the featured manga section or top yaoi section which changes daily on t...... 2 reply
Mmm, I would say it’s just a case of story over saturation. Because there are so many more stories being released, there’s going to be more not so good ones than what you remember from previous years. It’s been like that for ages in bl mangas. A lot of manhwas are based off novels too, which means once the most popular ones have been adapted ...... reply
