What do you think is lacking in modern anime culture?

I always complain abt this when it comes to anime but the lack of diversity when it comes to women, like im talking about part of the mc women not just side characters/grandmas. I agree with you on the same thing. I'd say it lacks diversity and original ideas in specific. Honestly anime culture is just one aspect, there is hardly any original, creative thought or idea anywhere. To be honest, besides yaoi, I pretty much only watch action anime and read action manga, but I’d also like to watch some romance anime for a change... My problem with it, though, is that most romance anime are aimed at a younger audience (teens), so to me they’re way too cheesy and childish... Not technically anime culture, but the fandom culture of animes. I'm honestly disappointed that nowadays people care sm about animation quality. Take one punch man for example, mind you the ORIGINAL had bad art, murata (I think Is his name) just redraw them. Yes, I'm a lil disappointed by some parts but at the same time... It isn't that bad?
