omegaverse stemming from misogyny
I wanna know you guyses thoughts because honestly im seeing why people believe this. I've been reading omegaverse manwhas for a few years now and I must say that even before knowing of this subject, I was already irked by some common cliches of omegaverse.

I actually dont really the majority of omegaverses, but there are FEW exceptions: Define the Relationship Do You Still Like Me?
and they rly did make some eye opening points that made me feel kinda irked about omegaverse, heres the caption of their post:

I'm not gonna say anything else because some of my few fav manwhas are actually omegaverse, but they're all mostly alpha x alpha and dominant omegas x alphas I just wanna know everyones thoughts abt this cause I know this is a sensitive subject thats been talked about recently.
Personally, I am a big feminist, and after hearing these points I dont really want to consume media that pushes these ideals that can be connected to deeper societal/sexist issues. This whole idea of heat and mpregnancy just seems weird to me now, it feels like blatant mockery of the experience and struggles of being a woman. Idk if I can view omegaverse the same. "Fiction is fiction!!", ok but remember fiction can influence beliefs, values and behaviour. Fiction reflects real human experiences.

they’re honestly not wrong, it’s one thing if it were just a method in which dudes could have kids in fiction but the world building and socioeconomic systems in most omegaverse tend to be super misogynistic and frankly distasteful, with many authors just writing rape slop and weird ass heat porn with pregnancy as the “goal”. ultimately, fiction is where people explore, interpret, and reinterpret the things they're experiencing and observing in real life, so there's always going to be an element of reflecting and engaging with some aspect of reality and society consciously/intentionally or not, no matter how mundane or fantastical the story.

No shade but that's why omegaverse was created?!?! Like the reason why the author created it was to reflect the hardships women face into a fictional universe where men could get pregnant. That's why most omegas do go through hardship and are often feminized.. is that ok? Depends on the intention of the author. Just like with other real life issues...... reply

Honestly, I see your point. However, I know plenty of well written — mainly because I avoid toxic Yaoi like the plague I can’t STAND that shit and it’s saddening that the majority of the Yaoi readers I know irl are read flag enjoyers

In general I don’t care for omegaverse because of the very high probability of a baby.
I don’t like to read about babies/kids/pregnancies in any instance, but especially not in my BL.
