Thoughts on fake-out isekai reincarnation stories

I’ve just been rereading some of the manhwas i finished and/or dropped and noticed that a lot of them ended up having fake reincarnation where MC actually regressed and the memories of reading a novel were actually fake.

I wanna hear about other people’s thoughts since i think of it as such a cop-out overused trope to make stories “more interesting” i guess?? Like i honestly think its fine when done well but i see so many that ive dropped just being like oh mc was never just some korean who got reincarnated after being car-kun-ed but rather someone who came from the future with repressed memories. A lot of the time, mc was brought back by some loved one or a villain dark magic voodoo user and i’m just like “how did you know what a car and a traffic light was and what a korean is dude??” Like lowkenuinely i wouldve been fine if like their memories are from a fairytale story they read as a child but the memories are blurry because that’s honestly more believable than someone regressing and never actually reincarnating instead of dying in og world to reincarnating in our world then back to og world like doctor elise or smth.
