What do you think of people who harass artists they deemed "problematic"
Regarding the syundei incident a while ago
- if you're out of the loop, long story short : ganbare nakamura got adapted to anime. The anime basically "sanitized" the story. Some people found out about the source material and went up to the author's twitter profile and harassed them while calling them a pedophile. The author ended up deleting their account.
Personally, i joined fandoms way before pro/antiship bullshit was a thing. But i'm starting to get annoyed with these moral police. Especially if they started harassing artist/creators just because they don't like something about them. Idk maybe it's just a cultural difference here in asia, but everytime western fans start moral policing fictional works it just feel so hypocritical. Like why are you so worked up over a nothingburger and harass normal people but stay silent towards your actual pedophile leaders (also those files were so bad it brought america's reputation to a whole new low, kids in china unironically think you guys eat people now).
Sorry but, I don't think you understand how intricate the issue is, especially with the whole Files thing you brought up. Backlash is inevitable from Western fans. Authors should know this by now, sorry.
X itself is known to be a hostile place for artists. I sympathize with Syundei, but she really should have seen it coming. In general, when it c...... 3 reply
I don't understand why we keep regurgitating the same 2 discussions over and over and over and fucking over again, both sides parroting the same fucking opinions they had about these things literally less than 24h ago.
All I'm going to say is, you fujoshis only care about authors getting "harassed" if they're BL authors, whenever a male author or ...... reply
"oh no i drew a minor getting fucked by a grown ass much older man,i mean his teacher and some "moral police" told me that i am wrong, my pro fic army please get out of your shota basement and get these moral police asses and tell them to kill themselves! And yes don't forget to do whataboutism by bringing up Epstein files to justify "normal people...... reply
idk how to empathize with people who make art romanticizing adult×minor relationships. like ok. you're doing a morally questionable thing and expect people to just sit on their ass. theres A LOT of debate around fiction vs reality but personally I will not compromise my morals and beliefs for someone's else's comfort. What kind of world are we liv...... 1 reply
This discussion can't be had because people straight can't wrap their mind around the fact people can gaf about multiple things at once, like the average fandom person can't go and somehow arrest Donald trump and his associate's that doesn't mean they don't care. I can't stand people that talk about these "problematic" content as if they exist in a...... reply
Someone will simply criticise the author or their work, and y'all will say it's harassment. "Moral police" and its js people who think the student x teacher trope is weird 1 reply
I mean let's be real here, if you write about or draw problematic media like pedophilia for fetish reasons you're gonna get backlash especially on the internet, it's kinda concerning that it seems to be normal in other countries from all the comments I've seen abt it .
Anyway, maybe the artist shouldn't have gotten harassed but they had it coming

Sorry babe i just can't bring myself to sympathize with someone who romanticizes things like pedophilia or rape. Women and little kids are getting raped and murdered all over the world so whenever i see people trying to make it all a fetish content through fiction, it makes me realise just how desensitised some of y'all have become through fiction....... 1 reply
I'm not gonna type a whole a complete paragraph, but all I can really say is that Idgaf. I don't harass problematic artists myself but when I see morally questionable stuff in their works, I wouldn't sympathize with them getting backlash from ppl lol reply
The issue imho is how both sides escalate each other.
On one hand, there are ppl who defend the inclusion of taboo topics in media but become very dismissive of criticism, they all hide behind the thin veil of the “fiction vs reality” argument without engaging with the concern that fiction can influence perspectives over time. They refuse to ...... reply
