What do you think of people who harass artists they deemed "problematic"
Regarding the syundei incident a while ago
- if you're out of the loop, long story short : ganbare nakamura got adapted to anime. The anime basically "sanitized" the story. Some people found out about the source material and went up to the author's twitter profile and harassed them while calling them a pedophile. The author ended up deleting their account.
Personally, i joined fandoms way before pro/antiship bullshit was a thing. But i'm starting to get annoyed with these moral police. Especially if they started harassing artist/creators just because they don't like something about them. Idk maybe it's just a cultural difference here in asia, but everytime western fans start moral policing fictional works it just feel so hypocritical. Like why are you so worked up over a nothingburger and harass normal people but stay silent towards your actual pedophile leaders (also those files were so bad it brought america's reputation to a whole new low, kids in china unironically think you guys eat people now).
This discussion can't be had because people straight can't wrap their mind around the fact people can gaf about multiple things at once, like the average fandom person can't go and somehow arrest Donald trump and his associate's that doesn't mean they don't care. I can't stand people that talk about these "problematic" content as if they exist in a...... reply
