Arrested authors for boy’s love
I think i saw a thread yesterday but I did NOT see it through until today when I read a FB post about it. Broo, what do you mean 30 authors were arrested and some going for 10 years in prison ( 10 YEARS???) for writing boy’s love. ITS FICTION, ITS A BOOK. I just can't fucking believe my eyes and the audacity. OMFG
And WORSE, these authors were publicly arrested and subjected to humiliating treatment which I can only imagine how they were treated.

the most messed up thing is ive seen some people are celebrating this??? i cannot in anyway fathom how writing about homosexual relationships is on par with other crimes such as robbery, sexual assualt, etc. i wish the best for those authors :(( 1 reply
Kinda surprised people haven't heard of this. It was a big deal in the danmei community mid-2025. From what I recall, there were some Chinese bl writers who published some r18 works on a Taiwanese website. The site was in trouble with the Chinese govt for tax evasion and in exchange for leniency, the site gave up the info of these writers. There's ...... 2 reply
Oh I saw that FB post as well After digging it up a bit it seems like it's less due to BL content (though there's a huge chance it's related to it) and it's more of a case of accidental tax evasion like what happened with the apothecary diaries author.
