Try doing past paper questions. The structure will probably be the same.There will be sections in ur syllabus the questions are mainly based on. Focus on those sections the most. If you can't remember theory well its best to do more questions.

Writing things down by hand specifically, and saying things over and over is the best way but I have a game

What I do are:
Writing by hand, flashcards, active recall, take exams with similar topics (just find them online or create ur own), and quick review with my friends before exam
If it involves math, try to jot down problems that are within the topic (with solution and its ok if they don't click just yet). Then try to answer them on ur own. If u get...... reply
If you have the test really soon then I would advise you to learn answers of common questions asked like past year questions. For me, I just write things down. Like just the key points, act like you're making a cheat sheet or whatever (even though you may not use it). If it's math or anything with calculation, just write the formulas and make sure you know what the symbols mean in those formulas. imo it depends on the subject. if its something like bio, history, ect, i'd suggest flashcards, and reviewing the concepts. you can also try explaining all the concepts out loud, without looking at your notes, to check if you actually remember everything. if its math, physics, chem, ect, i'd doing as many practice problems as you can. you don't hav...... reply
