What I do are:
Writing by hand, flashcards, active recall, take exams with similar topics (just find them online or create ur own), and quick review with my friends before exam
If it involves math, try to jot down problems that are within the topic (with solution and its ok if they don't click just yet). Then try to answer them on ur own. If u get...... reply
