looking at 3 manhwas i love i'd say mystery, characters who take no shit, and the art.
global examination - they're in a cabin in the middle of a snowstorm, how is this an exam? (mystery) you huo immediately tests the 'consequences' if they leave the cabin (clever). and he grabs an axe bc he's "looking for a pen" TT how can u not love him first cha...... reply
Im locked in if the manga prelude/gives a preview to a certain horrible event that will happen later in the manga, in the beginning. I havent seen many mangas do it but it keeps me hooked. reply
An intresting premise with good art, like if its something i haveent really seen much if at all or the characters are like different from the norm im hooked to begin with, also if the dynamic is fun, i dont really like watching a victim be like victimised, it feels a bit icky so i prefer if the mc has like some spunk(?) 1 reply
Making me attach to a character. Either making the characters want to know the mystery behind someone/something/event or the character want to achieve something so bad that people think it’s impossible.

1. Dialogue: you can get a lot from the dialogue of the pilot chapter, it says a lot about how narration will go—serious or humorous, light or heavy—it's an important criterion for me so I know what I'm getting myself into.
2. Art: now I'm not heavy on the art like standard aesthetic-wise, it doesn't have to be so 3d-esque and perfectly shaded ...... reply
