Other languages?
Okay so since there’s a discussion going on on a manga here, how do people feel about languages other than English being uploaded here?
I mentioned to an uploader that it’s English only on this site and have been called a spoilsport and that I’m bitching. I was honestly just trying to help. Someone else said it does no harm, so it made me think about it and wonder how everyone would feel if it happened to other manga.
I’ve been here 10 years and I’ve only ever seen English. I’ve always assumed there are other manga sites for other languages. Maybe I’m wrong and it’s not the rule that it’s only English, but reactions I’ve seen and the fact the whole site is English makes me think that’s probably the intention of the site.
Over the years I’ve seen people get annoyed when they’ve been notified and it’s a duplicate chapter or it’s in Japanese or Chinese. I thought people would probably be annoyed if they started getting notified of an update on an manga and it’s in another language, so that’s why I was giving a heads up.
In the spirit of learning what people think, how would you feel if there were translations in other languages uploaded on the manga page? Would you be okay with if there was a separate page for the translation in other languages? Would you prefer if this site stayed in English?
Personally what worries me about having other languages is that anyone who was here earlier this year has seen how the server copes with big influxes of data and visitors. If there were more languages (and more users) I worry the server would crash again and the whole site would be lost. This is why I say I’m not trying to spoil anything, I’m trying to protect the site so everyone can keep using it.
Personally i think unless we get a better filtering system the site should stay English only, unless people make two different uploads for the same story in different languages so people can just follow the language they specifically want to read but people often get mad about reuploads of the same story 1 reply
i think i would be pretty hype if chapters in my native language were uploaded here but lowkey i think mgg needs to stay english cs the site is way too outdated to support more than that 1 reply
They would have to completely revamp the system and interface to make this work but like lowkey mgo is a relic so I don’t see that happening.
But like how bato was where the different translations were under the title or something like manga plus when you click on it you pick the language you want to read in that’s how I’d imagine it would ha...... 1 reply
To be honest, I don't have anything against languages other than English, and I'd actually love to be able to read chapters in my native language or other languages, but on Mangago you can't filter or sort by language... so everything would be all mixed up :/ 2 reply
just want to add that when i say it’s not harmful i meant that this uploader translates stories alone… i also don’t think this would be a good idea if everyone started uploading in their native languages. that’d be hell if big scan groups all start uploading in their native languages.

If mgg had a way to keep the different translations separate, I think it would be fine; but mgg doesn't so I can only see this ending in angry English readers insulting the translators. Ppl here have no chill when it comes to their manga. 1 reply
french is one of the most spoken languages in the world. but that being said, mangadex typically features chapters in multiple languages so they could upload there if they want. why we always sleeping on mangadex 1 reply
