i've been reading yaoi for a long time (along with other media) but for some reason, after reading and finishing wet sand specifically, I've kinda lost all interest for this "genre" in general.
Imagine you know the ending of every story you've ever read, it would make you loose all interest in reading because it wouldn't be fun anymore, right?
Thats how I feel when reading this genre. Its so obvious now that all manhwa artists are only making money grab stories, there are rarely any good ones nowadays.
And I really really thought that MAYBE just maybeeee the author of wet sand would be just the tiniest bit original and make the main character end up with the actual better option but no. No they didn't because they followed the EXCAT same plot as literally every other recent yaoi plot.
Before, yaoi actually used to be good, there were unique stories and plots and such but right now its so so boring. Everything's the same I feel like im losing my mind.
I know im being dramatic but like its kinda sad honestly.

Tbh I never read wet sand bc I’m not a fan of love triangles, I do think there’s a lot of repetitive bl manhwa where you get a typical broke bottom and rich top plot, I have found recently a lot of new interesting bl stories but like there all new wich sucks but I say don’t loose luck just yet I feel like you just need to find what you like!!

there definitely is a pattern w the same overused plots, endings, miscommunication, and misunderstandings tropes, etc., (esp in popular ones and i think that's why they're popular -.-) but there are plenty of good ones if yk how to look. and if u dont then ask for recs. or idk read yuri.
yea tbh ian should've focused on healing himself but lwk the whole plot of the story in the beginning was for ian to remove himself from the life he was living and I feel like he could've accomplished that more with joe... but yea in the end your right.
