Lookism in choosing what to read
Do you ever choose what to read based on how easy the characters and overall story looks?
An example is Jinx. The cliche genre, cinderalla plot, toxic ml and poor protagonist fits all the bills that I like in a story. But after reading a few chapters, i just can't take it anymore cause Ml's arch eyebrows is so distracting for me. U know like Lola from Ki Sister? It's tiring to look at
Also mc always looks like a wet potato 24/7. I unconsciously match the characters expression and I feel like I'd get wrinkles if I keep reading.
Any other manhwa that made you quit reading cause of similar reason?
I've stopped reading BL recently because they're no ugly people. Barely anyone has anything unique about them, it's always a doe-eyed pretty boy fuck and Y/N CEO. Or two Y/N CEO that looks too fucking similar for their own good, if not for the hair color difference.

I always judge by its cover. Also since I've started reading manga with multipage off, it makes scrolling through webcomic formatted things feel tedious. Like I just want to tap every once in awhile. 1 reply
I love jinx's artstyle tho. And i think Jaekyung is the most manly beautiful top in yaoi verse. But i just can't their story is not my cup of tea. It tires me so much more than working a 9 hours shift.
I also judge by the cover, but sweet home doesn't have a beautiful artstyle but it's magnificent and every turn. I love it alot. So i am trying to...... 6 reply
I just wanna read something with ppl who look different and interesting and multidimentional... feels like everything is about tropes these days and the faces are all Kpop ripoff copy paste faces where we have to keep on hearing about how rich the seme is... yuck

I rarely drop a series just because of the art style.

I click on it based on the cover, I start judging from the summary and I form an opinion based on the contents of the first chapter.
First impression is really important for me.. If smut is in the first chapter I immediately get turned off.. I give second chances by reading the next but if its not any better then I just wont read it atp reply
I read something based on how much I like the art....sorry but the double door fridge build with extremely wide shoulders, small head and where both of them are built like a dorito chip with two pocky sticks as their legs is NOT it... reply
