What's the worst thing a teacher has ever told you?
I'll go first: My professor told me I'd be a good housewife because I couldn't answer a question he asked me... uhm, I'm literally in engineering class
(Not the worst thing someone has said to me, but it definitely hit my self-esteem.)
You gotta have thick skin as a woman in engineering. It is one of the most chauvinistic, sexist, machoistic majors out there. It's getting better and I'm seeing more women in the field, but it's still got a long way to go. reply

This was said by my (male) art teacher after he threw my work in the trash and I refused to do it all over again because I literally couldn't draw it any better to ...... 4 reply
...Sci/Bio teacher repeatedly asked my mom out for years.
He taught my older sisters. Which are 10 and 11yrs older than me.
So some years had gone by til I hit HS and ended up in his classroom.
My mom and sis had already told me about him being butthurt about it.
So, we're in class and waiting for the bell to ring and he says my last name aloud...... 2 reply

I used to play bluffmaster (card game) with my math tutor after I had solved all the equations he had given me. It's basically a game of the mind more than the cards themselves, and he was easy to read so I used to win every single time which would make him frustrated af, he would yell at me and it would make me laugh so hard.. I took a long time off school once to take care of both my parents, whose health conditions got worse. When I came back, I had to go to the staff member in charge of attendance since my attendance was very low. She lectured me about how school is important and that I should focus on that since it's my life, not my parents that they will die anyway ...... 1 reply
think it had to be when my Chinese teacher told me I had the face of a native but the tongue of a foreigner like mind you I'm not even fully Chinese and don't even speak it at home so I don't know what he was expecting

Not to me specifically but once we were going to watch Forrest Gump in class and the teacher confidently explained to us that "he's a r******, which means he's kind of dumb." Which, beyond being uninformed, is a really bad analysis of the movie lol. Mind you that teacher was like in his 30s? Not old enough not to know better reply
