What's it like having parents who only give conditional love
Love you can only get if you reach expectations, anger and abuse when you are not what they expected and that you are undeserving of love if you are not what they had in mind. Did you ever succeed in fixing the relationship with your parents? Succeed in living away from them in another country/state? I discussed this with an older friend of mine and she has parents like these, she moved to a different state but she was thankful or more relieved that because her parents were neglectful and never supportive she learned to manage time and work on her own so it's been an advantage for her. I plan on moving away as well but I don't know if I'll be thankful to my parents. What about you?
I can't fully say i have conditional love, but i do experience neglect mostly from my dad, while my mom is deep into religious stuff. I was born inside a cult, sadly I'm still part of it since i can't find a stable job to actually save money and move out.
