Have you ever feel that when you scratch a random part of your body that is itchy, you feel like a tingle on other part of your body.
It is called mitempfindung or referred itch. So what happened is your brain is practically tricking you to feel another sensation on your body when you scratch a different part of your body. Since our brain consists of a lot of nerve pathways, they sometimes overlap. So when a certain pathway perceive something, because of the overlapping, it might also be perceive by other pathways. Σ(  ̄□ ̄||)
If you got wounded by a barnacle there's a that it might enter your body. The barnacles can grow inside a human body and latch on the bones, and apparently there's no cure or any type of surgery to remove barnacles on the bones as it multiply fast.
