Is russian food really that bad ?
Look i had a crackhead Russian roommate and she'd cook me these elaborate dinners every once in a Russian holiday and I'm sorry but that food was NASTY like throwing up and gagging kinda nasty She one make thi schi or whatever soup dish and i gagged within the first bite. No seasoning no sear no nothing just boiled ingredients with a metallic taste that stayed in your mouth all night. My family is Pakistani and we eat heavily spice, roasted flavourful food and that Russian food gave me genuine insomnia
Most "Russian" food that I actually enjoyed turned out to be Ukrainian: Chicken Kyiv, Varenyki, Holubtsi, and pierogi. In terms of actual Russian food, the only thing I tried that I enjoyed was pelmeni. That being said, I really like their traditional sweets such as medovik and syrniki.

I couldn’t even tell you what qualifies as Russian food. I’ve never even seen a Russian-style restaurant or anything in my life. That kind of bland, gross stuff is what I’d associate with the UK reply
