Real time combat > turn based combat (Although I don't know if this is a hot take per say)
Splatoon is one of the greatest shooters in gaming history.
Visual Novels ARE games. The only exceptional argument I'd accept is if the visual novel only has one route and very little choices.

idk if this is a hot take, but customized weapon in a game is what I really like.
