Thoughts on shipping?
Personally I never really cared when it came to other people shipping fictional or real-life people as long as they weren't toxic or harming anyone in any way, if that makes sense. I mean, for example, my friends would say that "oh idol_ and idol_ should be together since they're so compatible.." and I never minded that but when I would hear about fans being like "NO THEY ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER" I would get upset and even disgusted especially when they would out-right say it to the people when they are visibly uncomfortable. I also never minded if they read fanfics on them as long as they weren't minors or anything. Like what is everyone else's thoughts on shipping?
i ship some anime characters .. BUT SOME PEOPLE TAKE IT WAY TO FAR. HARASSING THE AUTHOR FOR NOT MAKING A FUCKING SHIP CANON. I typically don't care about ships but sometimes I wish I could thanos snap half of all fics. As an example, I've noticed that in the mha/bnha fandom there have been increasing numbers of disgusting fics that sexualize incredibly young children. I don't mind shipping. I have shipped some anime character before. I am huge fan of kagehina ( the 20 year olds) because I feel like they understand each other and stuff. But I find it disturbing when people romantically link two people who are in high toxic relationship. Like calling like calling killing stalking a yoai is highly disturbing or har...... reply
I wouldn't say shipping is inherently a problem on a theoretical level but when you boil it down it's essentially looking at two people and going "Yeah, I'd wanna see them fuck" which you have to admit is just a little odd when you think about it.
And I would be extremely remiss to not mention the very real issues of shipping real people, underage...... reply

I love ships. To me they like triple the enjoyment i get out of a show :) Sometimes i just can't wait to finish a show, because i can already see that i will have just heaps of fun with the characters in fanworks.
I simply chose not to interact with the parts of fandoms that ship real people, pedophilic ships, incest or really any content i dislike...... reply
I have a tendency to ship, but that is coming from the lack of actual mlm couples, specifically in animation/comic. It's really rough when you like a plot, and see how two characters can easily develop romantic relationship, or have if the ship have much better chemistry than the offical one...

For me shipping is when two characters look cute together and have a good compatibility with each other. People can ship anyone but keep it at moderation and no pedo pls imo ;-; reply
