Can someone give me some tips? (Random stuff, I just don't want to post this on Reddit.)
So, I was some1 who didn't really take academics seriously. I never studied my whole high school life nd my grades were decent even tho I was always absent but I never got honors, which is why I'm taking my senior high school life seriously now. (to make my parents proud yk) I kinda messed up 11th grade because of a terror teacher and teachers who CAN'T teacher for the love of god. which made me lose my motivation to take grade 11 shs seriously
But now, I'm taking 12th grade seriously. I've been using all my power to actually study, even if it's just an hour a day and it's working ig i'm getting high scores on every test.
Here's the problem: I became a group leader. My teacher chose me!??? I've always said I can't do that since I prefer just following orders and not making decisions myself. i always refused!! My situation right now is really bad. My groupmates are fcking lazy and leaves me on delivered in the GC. What the f*** should I do? No one listens to what I say! I can't call them out or say they're useless because I know damn well they're all going to team up, backstab me, and flip the story.
anyway, any tips on how to be an honors student? And what should I do about my situation right now? oz jm genuinely going to lose it. im losing motivation
About school, don't underestimate being humble. Knowledge needs humbleness. You shouldn't assume you know all things, you understand things perfectly etc. That's why studying is important, no matter 8 hours per day, 4 , 1, just do your part. Never assume you're smart, there will always be someone else smarter than you, and in order to not be discou...... reply
hi, I had the same situation as you with groupmates who didn't do work aside from one other group mate I had. if they still aren't cooperating with you then tell the teacher, maybe you could switch groups if you still have time or get them reprimanded. your other option are just doing the work all by yourself, which I ended up doing but with one ot...... reply
Hard truth about school in general, you need to rely on yourself in groupings. Hard stop. No buts.
No one will help you, you have no one to rely on, and there's nothing you can do with other people's laziness.
It's not fair, it's not right. You just have to take the L and push through without thinking about the situation.
You also have to pus...... reply
Well I think even if you get honors they will still do whatever they fucking want...it's not like I am telling you that you should not get it but i think you should do it for yourself...If I say from my small river of experience then these type of people just will still find a reason to oppose you even you are perfect...they will still backbitch ab...... reply
Hello! I'm a consistent honor student since G7, I'm not so sure if this can help you but yeah I'll just leave this here.
RANDOM TIPS
1) Don't be scared if they backstab you, you're g12, next year you're going to collage who tf cares. MY PERSONAL TIP is to tell them that if they didn't contribute anything then they won't be a part of it as they d...... reply
just spend all of your time studying and use yaoi to cope with any bad feelings if you have left over time
but fr just try to study effectively and dont let the thought of being an honor student weigh heavy on you. graduating as a normal student is always better than not graduating because youre in a burn out. good luck and use yaoi to cope! 2 reply
maybe i can help with the group leader thingy
since your peers won't work with you, and since you're the leader, and since you're on your own, how about instead you keep a log of everything?
there's a really good chance they're going to turn on you and even deny their own faults. possibly even blame you and lie about it all and get away with it. ...... reply
Ik this might not be the best advice but u really should start planning to do it urself. Ya know, spending effort to force them to do it is equally taxing as doing it all by urself. Been there when i had a groupmate who was supposed to be an honor student deliver worse outputs compared to a fucking grade schooler. I basically did most of our thesis...... reply
Hi! I just wanted to bring in my own experience with working as a group – but take this with a grain of salt because the success of it on my end is 50/50 :(.
When working with other people, I really want them to feel the pressure. Sure, the deadline is already pressure itself! However, to other members that need a little pushing, it's not all t...... reply
