Thoughts on the Alex Meyers "Obsession" movie review controversy?
For those who don't know, Alex Meyers is a PNG-YouTuber who does movie reviews, mostly about Disney live-action movies and animated movies, and he decided to make a review about the "Obsession" movie.
In his review though, he made a lot of misogynistic takes about the female lead Nikki, whilst he was overly sympathetic and defending the male lead uhh I forgot his name but it was something stupid. Basically he called Nikki a "crazy hot crystal mommy Latina" and called the uhh what's the fucking guys name a "nice guy" for not taking advantage (ie. raping) of Nikki even though he clearly fucking did but okay.
Anyway, have you seen the controversy? What are your thoughts on either the review, the YouTuber himself or even on the movie?
Also sorry for making a post about some dumb controversy about shit only unemployed people care about but like I'm bored.
You can literally make a movie saying “don’t rape” and males will still pull their finger out of their ass, stick in the air and say “well akschually…” reply

Tbh I'm just surprised it took this long for him to really face backlash like this, cuz a lot of his style of humour has always involved stereotyping men & women. Like "crazy hot crystal mommy latina" isn't a surprising comment coming from him, he says stuff like that a lot. Obsession was a bad movie for him to cover cuz his style relies on simplif...... reply
That guy has been a bit problematic before when it comes to stereotyping women also I've heard that he's been divorced twice which would explain his behaviour divorce men always end up taking their anger at all women reply
I think it’s pretty telling that the main lead was saying shit like this as well as Alex Meyers. If your first instinct is to go “welllll is he actuallyyyyy the villain here?? But but but-!” then that tells me who they are as a person. I don’t know how anyone could watch that movie and think Bear is even somewhat in “the right” reply
Idk about the youtuber, but I was dying to say this out about the movie, it's overhyped coz of some reels which show the fl being unhinged and aggressive...if I were to summarise the movie I would say that coz of a loser who could not confess his feelings out loud or just bury them and move on the 2nd fl who was so close to achieve her dream lost h...... reply
