Lowkey rant time. I don't really want this to be a "well I turned out fine" type of thing, but sometimes I genuinely hate how ppl blame shit like porn or whatever fiction on people acting wrong.
Like, I'm sorry ur grown ass adult boyfriend shouldn't be taking all of his understanding of sex from porn actually, no matter how much he watches. But he does because he grew up with no one teaching him how to actually fkn talk to people and how romantic and sexual relationships are actually meant to work. And now he's a grown man that can't handle actually discussing intimacy.
And I feel like it's so fkn obvious bc if porn and erotica could really do all that, dark romance girlies would actually be like out there doing some heinous shit instead of making fanart of half naked fictional hockey players or whatever from the comfort of their bed.

Actually agree with this. People don't grow up in vacuums. We are a product of so many different environmental factors and what we read is only one part of that. Even if you read dark fiction or rape slop, you should still be able to separate your sex fantasy from real life. If you can't, then you've got some big issues you need to work through.
