So in BL, there's a fair amount of stories that have a character starting off as a top, they topped in all their previous relationships or hook ups but then when getting involved with the other main lead they bottom for them, but has anyone read the opposite of this? A character initially being a bottom, bottoming in their previous relationships and/or hook ups but then when getting with the other lead main character, they top them? Would this be an interesting direction to have more BLs doing? What do you guys think? Something subversive like the feminine top trope subversion instead of masc top.
I do not know if the manga explores it more, but I watched the movie anime adaptation of "Stranger on The Shore" and there is a scene where the one who is topping says something like he's a bottom or something. It is a short scene, and I have been wanting to read the manga to see if there is more communication about.
Also, I personally like the idea of a "Seke" or Versatile/switch that can both. So that might be a good place to start. Another tag worth exploring could be bisexual or gay x straight. I even saw list with gay guys x straight girl so I feel like somewhere there could be a bottom that goes into topping. :)
I don't read yaoi that often these days, I'm sure they probably exist but I guess the closest one I know of is this one called nurturing our natures, not exactly bottom to top but he ML was always expected to be the one to bottom in relationships
