Do you ever regret dropping your friends?
I recently ended a friendship over something from the past, and I’m honestly a wreck about it She used to talk about me behind my back, and she’s still close with people who bullied me all throughout middle and high school. Weirdly, that never bothered me much since I’ve made peace with them. But she also stood up for me more than once and was genuinely there for me when it counted. Another friend pushed me to cut her off, and I did, but now I’m second guessing everything. Would love to hear other experiences and if anyone’s been through something similar
I've dropped so many people over the years especially some of my closest friends. Key take is that people rarely change, if ever, if there was something to throw you off in the past, it's very likely that's it's happening in the present and will continue to happen in the future.
Also it's always a grey area with such people and you're gonna miss t...... reply
nah the thing is that the negatives outweigh the positives in relationships
even if it's a friend it's real easy for them to perform for you when they're in your face if they're the type to gaslight/be manipulative, but it's what they do when you're not around that matters more

Nah, I don't regret it. After my dad passed away in 2025 I went a bit quiet online because I was mentally fucked. She moved on so quickly and when I did come back she was a completely different person. She used to be nice and a bit shy and she liked a lot of the same things I did. I texted her but the conversations seemed so robotic. The only reaso...... reply
Even if u hadn't dropped the friendship, u guys weren't in a place where you could completely trust her. Even if u kept her around, it would have been at an awkward distance, with a fake "we r fine" smile. So just let go and move on. U can fight with friends, but someone keeping neutral stance with your bullies, is not a true friend. An acquaintanc...... reply
Regret ? No . Miss it ? Sometimes . Cus no matter how good (and bad ) our friendship was , ik ending it was a good choice for both of us . Ik we were both better off without e/o than with e/o . reply
Honestly, I have never regretting cutting ties with anyone in my whole life. I am that one chill guy with numerous hobbies, no close friends but friendly with everyone. Maybe that's why I may not understand it from ur perspective but come on.

Never regretted for a second toxic people I dropped from my life....
BUT I made the decision. Sounds like you didn't! Someone pushed and/or manipulated into that choice. So you could have regets, just sayin :)
Second guessing is it wasn't solely your decision so one can't make full peace with it, hope you find your resolution. 2 reply
No and I did it over something really petty and didn't communicate for shit :P . I basically was shown a text by someone in our group basically asking why i was struggling to find a job at my grown age. I wasn't in a good headspace so i took it personally, spiralled internally and it supplemented my natural inclination to be paranoid and to dissapp...... reply
