Do you ever find yourselves wondering what’s become of your online friends?
I used to play video games a lot and, as a result, spent much time on certain forums and online communities (including anime and manga related ones). I got on really well with some of those people and would even talk to them on the phone regularly for hours, just talking about everything and anything. Some of them actually helped me get through difficult times. At some point, we just lost touch. It was to be expected and I know that for some people, it’s not a ‘real’ friendship if you don’t know each other in real life, but I still sometimes wonder what’s become of them and whether they’re doing well, even though I’ve never met them in real life.
I had really longtime running online friends (at least friends for 8-12 years). It's only recently that I really lost touch with them (my friends be falling off in droves tbfr in just the span of 2 years smh). One of them went to immigrate to America and they're struggling so we don't talk anymore; probably only got to greet them for their birthday this year. The other one i ended up distancing myself gradually over the years because i was going through depression and a lot of stuff. In that period i personally found it difficult to continue bonding and our relationship was difficult for me ig.
One of my online friends had cancer, and I saw a friend of a friend post a status with his name saying “RIP” (I didn’t even know what he looked like). I like to think that it wasn’t actually him, and that he just stopped being active on social media and is out there somewhere, living his life.
Well some of us just spent last week together, and we spend all day sending each other memes on discord and ranting about our lives, so I don't have to wonder much. Some of them did disappear tho, one whom I thought had expedited the process was actually alive and well so that's a relief. All of my friends except 1 are people I met on Discord.
Yes, my friend from roblox named sunnyfunnyrunnybunny (she inspired my username) she did not speak English but we still got along despite the language barrier. Unfortunately she disconnected before I could friend her but I will always remember her… I hope she is doing well. I sometimes think about that one spanish kid that I used to play roblox with...Istg some people are gonna laugh at me but like he was 2 years younger than me and I treated him like my younger brother I loved him so much, idk what happened to his account because at one point he never got online again, I don't like to imagine that something bad happened so in my head he just probably stopped being interested in the game...
I also stopped playing roblox a long time ago so like yeah it just sucks sometimes LOL
