Being a horror fan isn't the same as 'dark romance' fans
Specifically dark romance where the whole plot is sexual abuse or toxic asf. I will never understand as to why some people use the logic "oh but horror fans love serial killers" Yeah for how scary they are usually. Not to mention most of these serial killers aren't even realistic, because they cannot be killed somehow. Not to mention, the authors write them in a way to scare you and hate them. Whereas with dark romance, you'd see it be glorified and by glorified, is somehow the lead is gonna be redeemable at the end of the story. Despite them coercing the mc previously in chapters. These two genres are completely different, and therefore not a "proof" That your toxic ass series isn't affecting society when it quite does.
im actually so fucking tired of posts pathologising dark romance series. Sure it's not the same as horror, but the whole point of it is that it's a book, a story. You can put it down, you can walk away, you can experience its events in your mind together with the main character on your own terms in an environment you have control of.
