Authors need to stop following trends.
Every single new work by the author of hate mate is so bad and it's hurting my soul especially since have hate mate as your first work literally put them up for greatness but nope everything after is just your old rape, shitty ml bullshit is it me or at least a couple of authors that wrote mid to good stories in the early 2020s keep releasing new works that are literally shit and obviously just made to follow the current trend of the rape fest bl? Obviously i understand authors want money and following trends is how they make it but it's so sad that basically every story is the same exact thing over and over again
It’s because edge lords on social media platforms keep saying the same “hot take” where it’s like, “toxic/psychological yaoi is much better than fluffy because the darker themes make it interesting!” And then the ‘psychological’ yaoi in question will be like reverse thinking… so authors follow the bandwagon and cater to those read...... reply
