It's kind of misogynist to think Mulan is trans, you're basically refusing to accept a woman to be as strong as men so you made a headcanon that she is biologically a man in order for her to be strong. There's plenty of trans representation out there, why choose a biological woman? Just let women have one thing jeez, Mulan is one of the most femini......   5 reply

I think the reason why people are upset by it is because Mulan is supposed to be a strong willed, brave woman. A woman that went to war to save her own father. A woman that pretended to be a man because woman were not allowed to go to war because they were seen as fragile, weak and soft. Not because she wanted to be a man Making Mulan as trans jus......   reply

Everyone has their opinion so if someone wants to headcanon her as trans i dont see a problem unless they're shoving thst down everybody's throat. I personally don't think she is because she just canonically isn't. And the whole point was that she cross dressed because women were not allowed to look strong and be brave but be housewives that fit in......   reply

The amount of people who headcanon Mulan as trans is so insignificant compared to the amount of people who don't. No amount of headcanonning is gonna change what's canon. this whole argument transphobic asf wow you can really see *everybody's* colours the second someone mentions trans ppl. The premise alone is wrong. No one (and i mean no one, don't play dumb with me here) has ever said "mulan is trans" What they DID say is that they as trans people find themselves in the emotional upheavals of Mulans story, especi......   4 reply

Seeing people argue about this is so funny because they know zero about ancient Turkish history. That era was peak feminism. Honestly, trying to label Mulan as a trans individual is an insult to feminism and female empowerment. It completely takes away from a woman's own strength and what she can achieve as a woman. And the funniest part? The enemy ......   reply

1500 years that poem has existed, and for 1500 years no one has ever once thought of her as trans until disney made a movie about her---and there are myths that are trans-adjacent characters in china, like these people are picking the ONE poem about a strong woman from china. fucking NEZHA has more grounds in the trans debate than mulan.   1 reply
