AI
I see this all the time and people talking about AI until today so i wanted to share with you guys my personal experience and curious to hear your thoughts about it too!.
What’s your opinion on AI? Do you think it’s actually “harming society” and human knowledge, or do you think it can also have a positive impact?
Personally, I don’t want AI to “replace” humans, especially at work or in school. But I still think it can be beneficial, especially for people like me who are neurodivergent.
I struggle with DLD (Developmental Language Disorder), and for anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it’s a disorder that can affect how a person understands and uses language. In my country, my DLD is considered severe/general, which means I have difficulties both understanding and expressing myself. It affects all languages I speak, not just English, including my mother tongue.
AI can help me find the right words, structure my text, check my grammar, and basically organize my ideas. It’s still my words, thoughts, and feelings, but AI helps make them clearer and smoother. The text I’m writing right now has also been helped by AI. Otherwise, I probably would have gotten stuck on the first sentence, or what I wrote might not have been understandable to other people.
At the same time, I think there’s a big difference between using AI as a tool and relying on it to do everything for you. If people stop thinking for themselves and just let AI do all the work, especially in school, I can definitely see how that could become a problem.
But I don’t think using AI responsibly necessarily means we’re destroying human knowledge. It really depends on how we choose to use it. For some people, AI might be a shortcut, but for others, it can be an accessibility tool that helps them communicate and participate in ways they otherwise might struggle with.
So, what are your thoughts on AI? Is it really as bad as people claim it is, or does it depend more on how we choose to use it?
