any advice on how to navigate emotional and verbal abuse?
i'm lucky enough to be filled with so much fucking spite that i'd spit fire whenever my mother tried this shit with me, but my friend is a people pleaser and she lets her mother walk all over her (due to yearsss [decades?] of this btw, i'm in no way blaming her) so my advice is super limited. can someone please provide firsthand experience on how you deal with this shit, esp from a parent?
she still lives there, unfortunately, and it effects her physically and mentally and my advice of fighting back seems so stupid bc we're both diff ppl and i want to give advice that will actually help her and something she can actually do.

Frankly, unless your mother is willing to listen or conducive to you twisting her arm over, there's not a lot you can do. My grandma's son was a jackshit and abusive, but becayse she wanted to stay there really wasn't anything we could do. Couldn't even call the police because she'd defen...... 1 reply
