Is no one bothered by rape in yaoi?
I love yaoi, okay? Don't get me wrong. But are you seriously okay with the uke falling in love with the rapist/predator/paedo seme? Whatever the reason maybe for the seme to do it but this really really bothers me becoz most of the time it's becoz the seme is afraid to confess or some bullshit. Is it really love if you rape them? Like what? I just want to know your opinion. Is it considered okay in japan? I mean there are 11-12 year old girls reading this shit. They are going to think rape is okay. OR even consider it a form of true love. Why no one says anything about it? Is everyone aware of this risk in japan? I mean in my country this would be banned lol.
Fiction is separate from reality, an 11 year old should be able to tell the difference between a plot device in a story and psychotic irl abuse, and if they can't tell the difference they shouldn't be reading 18+ content (tbf they shouldn't be reading this stuff at their age in the first place but that's really their parent's decision in the end). 1 reply
Hm I just avoid them. And if I stumble into one I just drop it. I'm not okay with it. There is a manga here that's really popular. I think it's called An easy target. I seriously couldn't read after he got raped again. I was shaken. You have to be careful of what you read. Yaoi isn't for kids that's why they're rated 19+ there. reply

Yeah I agree it's super messed up! But, these stories do not reflect reality at all and are conjured from very cliche features or weird fantasies and situations. Some subject matters are so screwed up, but then again not everything is going to be a happy and cute life. reply

It bothers me a Lot and I greatly avoid that kind of thing myself. And there are people saying young girls wouldn't think rape is ok just because of that, but I think it can, at the very least, be problematic as they might dismiss it if they came across actual gay guys undergoing sexual harrassment later on.

Gonna be honest. I'm not bothered by it. In fact I love the stories that explore these taboo subjects. It excites me. It's an unspoken desire, which is never accepted in reality which is why we read fiction.
