P0rn Addiction
To people who have overcome p0rn addiction, how did you do it? I'm barely an adult and I was exposed to p0rn when I was 9 years old, I started reading bl p0rn when I turn 13 and until now I haven't overcome it. I couldn't talk about this to my parents because they are the reason why I have this in first place. I was 7 when I started to notice them doing something in the middle of the night, the bed is moving and I hear them whispering, after months of them doing it next to me I did think of confronting them but every single time I couldn't move. I froze until they are done, I was really confused that time and wanted to ask them "why" I hated myself of how I romanticize r@pe, my young mind made scenarios of me being forced to s3x, my intrusive thoughts is making me watch p0rn and regret it afterwards. I can't tell anyone in my family about this, I know too well how they don't really take mental health seriously because one time I cried so much in front of them but my own father just made the situation all about himself "if I were you" or "back in my days" then he's wondering why am I not smiling when I'm with him. I just want to make this addiction go away even if a little bit, I've enough of feeling ashamed in my whole life. Reading is my only way to escape reality. People who did therapy, what did they say to overcome this? Or people who helped themselves to get rid of their own p0rn addiction, how did you all do it?
I stopped telling myself to stop flat out, instead I set times when I was allowed to and slowly shortened and spaced out those times. Also, when I had the urge and I couldn't convince myself to wait for the designated times I'd say "Okay I can do it if I wait 10 minutes" and if I still wanted to 10 minutes later I would but usually it passed by the...... 1 reply
First of all, I'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through, I pity kids technically exposed to filth so early in life because the adverse effects like porn addiction are always harder to overcome for them.
I'm also sorry to hear about your unsupportive family, trust me... I can relate, my father is a total mysioginist and something very simi...... 1 reply
when i was a kid, maybe 11– i started watching some really nasty and concerning things through porn that caused me a lot of shitty intrusive thoughts, terrible mental health and self deprecation. it ended up becoming an addiction for me for many years.
i didn’t go to therapy but i started the habit of re-directing. i felt like watching it? i...... 1 reply
as someone who was hypersexual and had thoughts and scenarios of being raped by my own father, it was very hard for me to let those thoughts go and be somewhat mentally stable. The first thing I ever understood was to never let porn consume me to the point it affects the way I think, but when i already let it consume me all I could ever do was beat...... 1 reply
easy you dont, porn addiction isn't recognized in the DSM-5, it seem like you were exposed to sex at an ealy age, the situation with your parents is a grey area, it never should have happened seems to me it might actualy of been sexual abuse, children who have been abused sometimes become hypersexual that may be the case with you but ultimately por...... 2 reply
I had a friend in middle school whose dad would watch porn super loudly whenever she was at his house. It’s so disgusting what adults will do when there are children present. That really messed her up and, while we’re not friends anymore, I really wish I had done something to help her. Anyways, I haven’t gone thru this exact thing personally,...... 1 reply

I think of it as a type of medical massage or something, cause I'm not the type of person who gets horkney to me masterb41t10n lowers stress by triggering the parasympathetic nervous system to slow your heart rate and relax physical tension. At the same time, it floods the body with endorphins, dopamine, and oxytocin, which simultaneously boost mo...... 1 reply
