Translators and their issues

Why do ppl get mad when someone "steal" their translation aka post it on another site????
It’s not like you’re getting paid for translating and you’re posting it on an illegal site, other illegal sites are going to take it
I used to translate on a diff site,i stopped since I got busy and generally got bored with it but I never had issue with ppl taking it since I was doing it for fun anyways

or if they buy the official translation and post it then get mad other sites took it.. I mean it’s your money but aren’t u sharing because you want other ppl to read too? So why do u care someone else took it? they even put annoying watermarks all over the story as if it’s their own work
I just never understood this.. I was reading a manhwa and the translator was mad ppl are sharing their translation on TikTok they even said they won’t post the next chapter as "punishment " untill those ppl "learn to behave "
