Reading a Yaoi manwha isn’t the same as watching real porn
Having to explain this is honestly sad, but reading a Yaoi story is NOT the same thing as watching porn.
I left a comment under a post where someone literally shared a link to porn in the comments. I simply advised them not to do that because there could be underage people on this site. Somehow, I got jumped by a bunch of weirdos for saying that.
Yes, I’m an adult. But I started using this site when I was 14. Is that a good thing? No. But I did, and that’s exactly why I KNOW for a fact that underage people are on here.
And then people are saying, “You’re complaining about porn while literally reading Yaoi.” Are y’all genuinely stupid? Because those things are not automatically the same.
Fictional Yaoi content and literal porn being shared on a public site are two completely different things. The porn industry also has a long history of exploitation, and consuming porn excessively can become addictive and affect the way people view sex and relationships.
And honestly, judging by some of these reactions, I can tell that a LOT of people here have a serious problem with porn. The fact that you’re getting this defensive over someone saying “maybe don’t post literal porn where minors can potentially see it” is wild. ┗( T﹏T )┛

It’s not the same for the brain to read fictional explicit stuff and watch REAL people having sex.

they're both explicit content and both should not be shown to underaged kids, only difference is one is fictional and the other is real, yaoi is kind of a broad subject tho, like there are yaois that are mostly plot and doesn't have a lot of smut, and yaois that are just straight up smut or porn, so maybe specify which yaoi they're talking about 1 reply

If the yaoi you're reading is featuring two guys fucking and rolling in the sheets for most of the story, then it's porn by all effects. When they sell them in libraries, they got a red dot sticker on purpose because it's considered +18 content. Just because it's a different format, it doesn't make it "less porn". Yaoi is a genre, and it can absolutely contain explicit stories and smut. The site we’re using has even featured very graphic smut stories on the front page, so I don’t think it’s entirely fair to act as though sexual content and minors somehow only become an issue when it’s literal porn, I mean a few weeks ago there was a story on the fron...... reply
