how has life been cruel to you

have you or can you say that you've experienced being poor as in being close having nothing at all that there are days you can't eat even if you want to?

I've experienced being close to nothing or being really poor when I was a kid, only one of my parents had a job, the pay obviously not enough since I had 3 other siblings(that time) we didn't have enough money to buy necessities and so. I remember my parents going to a store nearby just to ask for food that's listed as a debt, it happened so many times that we don't even eat sometimes, our priority was for our youngest sibling to be able to eat, my mom was the one working and because my dad was staying at home and couldn't get any job, he got frustrated and started being abusive, it's been like that for so long he got used to it...
as of now, I can say that my family is living well, we no longer have days where we're struggling financially, I've got a job, my sister has a job and my other siblings are studying. poverty gets you to a point where you don't want anyone, especially you family to ever experience struggling and statving.
