Rate my poetry please!
This is just for funsies cuz today I had literature class for the first time and I wanna see how good am I in this thing. Criticisms are welcome!
[Me and You x Drawing] (don't mind the title please idk how to do a better one)
Once, I languidly traced my pencil onto a paper, trying to capture what was supposed to be my face,
But as the lines filled the space more and more, it seemed that your face is the only one I could capture,
Yours who I hadn't seen in 7 years.
The image gave me a jolt, as I never knew, the words that people claim had never rang more true,
"You look just like your mother."
Years have gone by and I couldn't ever believe,
Until today, when even a hobby you taught also proved me wrong.
To that I wonder, if you were still here,
What expression would you have seeing the picture,
If words of praise would emit from you, as it did so, so many years ago,
If you'll show it off to your friends, like you did for my amateur drawings,
What would you say if you're here just a bit longer? I draw you, and you draw me instead?
Now I truly believe that you live forever in me.
